Maryland Equestrian Classifieds: Endurance/Eventing Horse for Sale All that said, he is an amazing horse. A goofy personality and can be quite the cuddle bug. I trust him with my kids on him, and he has been a favorite of several folks I have met in the endurance community. My life circumstances have changed, and so now I need to find an endurance horse who is not in need of multiple times a week training/riding."> All that said, he is an amazing horse. Pooka is a rescue horse from New Holland Kill Pen, around 15 years old and 16 hands tall. He is well boned, and strong! He easily carries a HW rider, and LOVES endurance/trails/jumping. He drinks on trail, loves eating (at all times), and is not spooky. At times we even call him the trailblazer (bulldozer?).
Hes got wonderful hard feet, is barefoot, and up to date on all the things. He can be kept inside or out, and is an easy keeper. He trailers well, and though he is a strong minded horse he does get along with others.
When it comes to humans he definitely needs a strong rider, I would say advanced beginner or up, who knows how to handle strong horse personalities. He 100% needs someone who will be riding him multiple times a week. That is when he shines and is his happiest. He will be a partner and roll down the road for you. He has a HUGE road trot, and keeps up easily with gaited horses with it.
His quirks- Like I said, he needs regular work. If he does not have it, he becomes a handful of "I am bored, so I am going to make my own entertainment". He also is not what I would call "finished". He does W/T/C and he LOVES to jump.
All that said, he is an amazing horse. A goofy personality and can be quite the cuddle bug. I trust him with my kids on him, and he has been a favorite of several folks I have met in the endurance community. My life circumstances have changed, and so now I need to find an endurance horse who is not in need of multiple times a week training/riding.
