General Manager Flexible Fit Equestrian

Flexible Fit Equestrian LLC – Sterling VA

The position of General Manager at Flexible Fit Equestrian will be a role of leadership for the Flexible Fit Equestrian team in VA. There will be a degree of autonomy however overall reporting will be made to the Company Owner.

Flexible Fit Equestrian is an Australian company now operating in North America. We manufacture and sell mix and match bridles, breastplates, girths and a range of other leather gear.


  • Responsible for Flexible Fit Equestrian P&L
  • Provide leadership and vision to the organization by guiding departments/staff with the development of long range and annual plans, and with the reporting of progress on plans.
  • Manage HR functions in alignment with policy, including but not limited to: staffing, scheduling, recruiting, hiring, training, performance reviews, incident documentation, termination, record keeping and time clock management.
  • Inventory control management.
  • Work within budgetary requirements, managing all expenditures.
  • Drive sales and increase profitability to Flexible Fit Equestrian through all channels, including but not limited to catalog, website, retail store, e-commerce, Amazon, etc.
  • Collaborate with creative, e-commerce and catalog production teams at Flexible Fit Equestrian Australia.
  • Direct, record and report press releases, sponsorship events.
  • Plan and host Retail Events.
  • Merchandise, sign and arrange the retail space.
  • Maintain clean and organize property and equipment maintenance with communication to Flexible Fit Equestrian Australia and Flexible Fit Equestrian GmBH.
  • Manage daily functions and meeting deadlines.

  • Organising and attending Trade Shows that will increase brand awareness throughout VA and the East Coast. Some international travel may be required

  • College degree preferred or equivalent job experience.
  • Working knowledge of P&L management.
  • 3-5 years of Retail Management experience.
  • Strong business acumen and skill-set which enables the management and development of staff.
  • Strong knowledge of equestrian products and services with the ability to confidently convey this information effectively to customers. Particular knowledge of Dressage, Showjumping and Eventing highly desired.
  • Excellent computer skills, capable in Excel, Word and Power Point.
  • Ability to learn proprietary computer programs for use in order processing and inventory management.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills.
  • Strong and successful sales and customer service experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
    . Comfortable driving a large truck and trailer
  • Comfortable with working towards established goals and metrics.

    $50,000 per year

    3 weeks paid vacation

    5 days paid sick leave
