Key Requirement: You MUST have reasonable horse handling experience. There simply isn't the time to train someone from scratch. I have to be able to trust you with and around the horses.....our horses, clients' horses, and the rehab horses.

Setting: Small/Rustic/Subdued/Modest/Private, 16 Stall, 40 Acre, Quiet, Low-Key Horse Rehab & Training Farm, Over 25 Years right here in Marshall/Middleburg. The horses are well-mannered and generally easy to handle.

The Work:

+ The everyday activities of a safe, caring, conscientious horse barn.

+ Morning stalls, noon & late picks, feeding, water, blanketing, turnouts, and general cleaning --- doing what needs to be done.

+ Shorter Winter workdays, longer Summer workdays.

Your Opportunity:

+ Exceptional learning opportunity in an Equine Rehab and Training environment with a Professional w/ 30+ years as Rider/Trainer/Breeder/ Professional Rehab Practitioner.

+ Live in a nice private barn apartment, furnished, paid electricity & Wi-Fi.

+ Safe, secure environment, surrounded by quality horse farms.

+ Ample Riding and Lessons included if qualified – Work comes first.

You:

+ Single / Neat / Respectful / Lives Softly / Happy to be off the beaten path

+ Must have a passion for horses, not looking for just labor.

+ Reliable and Trustworthy. We'd like to get off the farm occasionally.

+ Single --- Sorry, we're just not set up for more than one person.

+ No Pets – Sorry, No Exceptions.

+ A Self-Starter hopefully with initiative to act on what you see.

+ A good communicator.

+ Focused on work while working, not constantly texting/tweeting all day.

+ A good history of work around horses, references will help.

+ Can work well with a variety of client personalities.

+ Can Take Direction, but "gets it" quickly.

+ Can handle the physical work.

+ Must have your own transportation.

+ Will provide a short overview of your history and work objective in your email reply.

+ If you ride, I'd appreciate a 1-2 minute WTC phone video of you.

+ If you simply want to only work and not/don't ride..... that's OK too.

+ No Smokers.

+ Absolute ZERO-Tolerance for heavy drinkers and drugs. We want you alert attuned to your surroundings.
