Maryland Equestrian Classifieds: -LEASED- Talented Event Horse/Jumper
This horse has an interesting story- He was a moderately successful racehorse, with 27 career starts. Afterwards, his long-time exercise rider loved him so much that she purchased him for herself, to pursue eventing with! Mo took to his second career with ease, completing a successful season at Beginner Novice level; most notably, he finished 3rd at the LHPC HT in June, and 3rd again at the CDCTA Fall HT in September, among others. Mo is an incredibly scopey, catlike jumper- the kind that makes you stop and go, "WOW!". He is a forward-thinking type of horse, and can be rather strong in the bridle; therefore, he will require a capable, tactful rider to help bring out his full potential. I could see Mo continuing to move up the levels in Eventing, or easily pursue pure Jumpers as well.

Mo is a relatively easy keeper; he is happy to be turned out 24/7, and only wears front shoes. He gets along easily with others in turnout, stands respectably for the farrier, and loads/ships perfectly. Mo doesn't require any maintenance, and has been very sound for his owner. In 2019, while still at the track, Mo had a chip removed from his knee, after which he continued racing for 3 more years without issue. The knee has not bothered him since. He also has some cosmetic scars on his front legs, as well as an old splint that is cold and set. Mo has no stable vices.

Mo's owner is committed to finding him the perfect home; he would be ideal for a capable working student on a budget, or someone with experience bringing along OTTBs, working with a trainer.

Available for off-site lease at $350/month, 6-month minimum term requirement, with possible purchase option upon conclusion of lease. ">

"Mo" is a 2016, 16.2h bay gelding by Uncle Mo, out of a Stormy Atlantic Mare. Mo is an extremely athletic, scopey, jumper with a full season of eventing under his belt, and upper level potential, for the right person to bring along. He has also been foxhunting several times with Farmington Hunt Club, and attended a handful of local hunter shows. Mo is a graduate of the 2023 Thoroughbred Makeover, where he placed in the top-20 in both Eventing and Showjumping Disciplines.
