"BOUND TO BE GOOD" is a OTTB gelding aka "Forrest." Asking $14,000 OBO. Foaled Feb. 2016, he is a 9 yr old , 16.1 hh black bay. Last raced in 2021. His schooling is focused as a hunter/cross country prospect. Current training level: advanced beginner green hunter. For sale through no fault of his own, his owner does not have the time to put into continuing his training. Forrest has an in-your-pocket sweet, kind, personality and good ground manners. Easy to catch in the field, cross-ties or single ties and stands quietly to be groomed, bathed, sprayed, and tacked. Currently 24/7 pasture kept, he is in the middle to low side of the pecking order in his herd. He has been both stalled and pasture kept and responds to either as long as there is another horse with him when he is in a stall. He works in indoor or outdoor arenas, does figures, ground poles, and is currently jumping up to 2' fences. Works well in a round pen, with W-T-C and correct leads. Has limited experience on trail rides, but is well behaved in an open pasture, is not spooky on trails, ignores dogs, goes through the fields, woods or beside the road. Will amble on a trail ride, or pick up the pace at a trot or canter. He will easily pop over small obstacles on a trail. Forrest has been on 1 Hunter Pace, and was fantastic. He was also a rock star at a 1 day jumping clinic he was taken to. For trailering, he prefers a an open-style (stock or slant load), thoroughbred height trailer. We are looking for a forever home for Forrest. Forrest is not a school horse or for a beginner. He requires a consistent, confident, experienced rider who is at least intermediate level with access to a trainer to bring him to his full potential. No horse traders or riding schools, please. A good home is a must, PPEs welcome. This is the YouTube link to Forrest's video:. https://youtube.com/shorts/I8bE-sZ5FBo?feature=share .
