WANTED: Part time AM horse barn help. Small private farm seeking experienced farm hand for ~2.5 hrs general horse care (less than 10 horses). Responsibilities include feeding and watering, cleaning stalls and buckets, managing morning turn out cycle. Previous large animal/stock care experience preferred. Base hourly rate negotiable based on experience.
Great opportunity for someone working or living in Upper Marlboro/Southern Maryland area to supplement income. Additional work may be available for applicants with demonstrated handy skills.
Responsibilities:
Morning feed and water including supplements and dietary support as needed
Bring in or turn out herd following turn out schedule
Stall and bucket maintenance
Experience with young horses/stock a plus
Desired Candidates:
Dependable and works well independently
Familiar with the impact of weather conditions on horse care and able to adapt methods accordingly
Demonstrates good judgement in assessing ground conditions in turnout areas
General interest in equine health
Able to lift, pull and push loaded cart or wheelbarrow
